Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. The Camas PD has an immigration policy document posted @ https://www.cityofcamas.us/police. Please scroll to the bottom to find the document. In terms of the school district, they are a separate entity from the City and would have their own policy in regards to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

  • Share I hope this message finds you well. I recently received the newsletter regarding the management of the park in Green Mountain, Phase 1, and I have some concerns and questions regarding the information presented. For several years, our community has been informed that the City of Camas would assume control of the park in 2029 or 2030. The recent announcement stating that the park is not the HOA's responsibility has created some confusion, especially considering that we have been paying dues to the Master Association, which includes funding for a landscape company to maintain the park. Could you please clarify the following points for our community: 1 What exactly has changed in terms of the park's management, and when was this decision made? 2 Can you confirm whether the City of Camas took over the management? 3 What are the new rules for our community members regarding the park? 4 How will this affect the current dues we pay to the Master Association for landscape maintenance? 5 Who ensure songoing maintenance and upkeep of the park moving forward? Thank you for your attention to this matter. Clear communication is vital for our community's understanding and effective planning. Thank you for your questions and thank you for using Engage Camas. Nothing has changed on the City's end. While we own the park and provide irrigation and water, we do not do any maintenance. It is the responsibility of the HOA to provide maintenance for a set period of 10 years. With that being said, any issues with the HOA in this regard would need to be taken up with the HOA.

Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. Homeowners’ associations (HOAs) are regulated by the State of Washington under RCW 64.38 and 64.90. These laws include rules related to community management, board meetings, and homeowner rights. The City does not regulate HOA operations or intervene in matters between HOAs and homeowners.

Please note, any fire safety hazards or concerns should be directed to the Camas-Washougal Fire Marshal’s Office.

Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your questions. Please note, our Engineering team will  investigate the claims you mentioned. As a note, the City does not generally install “Slow’ or “Slow Down” signs due the relativity of the speed of the driver (are they actually speeding?) and the vagueness of why to slow down. Similarly, as a City we do not install “Children at Play” signs because virtually every neighborhood has children, and the roadway is not a dedicated place for children to play. As mentioned, our team will look into this and reach out to the HOA, if needed.

Thankyou for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. There are a couple of options, you can use the new Camas Connect app to report a street light outage. You can find it here: https://cityofcamaswa.tylerportico.com/TIM/Portal/portal-home You can also submit service request there as well. Or you can email the out street lights and numbers to administration@cityofcamas.us and we'll make sure it gets to the right individual.

Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. We had our Engineering team look into the data for that area, and specifically, NW 7th Ave. While there are some high speeds in the data, the overall speeds are low. 95% or more of the traffic is traveling at or below the speed limit. Engineering does not recommend any additional traffic control devices at this time. With that being said, the Camas PD is also aware of your concerns and Officers have been asked to provide some extra traffic enforcement focus in that specific area.

  • Share I would like to know who decided to change the rules of the road at the intersection at NW 18th and NW Hood St. (on Prune Hill). The change is accident waiting to happen. The Yield vs. Stop signs and road lane markings are very confusing. This intersection is unsafe. Why do I say this? Because I’ve almost been hit twice and flipped off once for stopping at a posted stop sign. Seriously, who made this decision. A simple three-way stop sign would have been more than adequate here. on Facebook Share I would like to know who decided to change the rules of the road at the intersection at NW 18th and NW Hood St. (on Prune Hill). Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. The City has implemented a traffic revision at the intersection of NW 18th Avenue and NW Hood Street, transitioning the intersection into a curve to allow smoother movement through the area. Northbound traffic on NW Hood St now has a free right turn to eastbound NW 18th Ave. Westbound traffic on NW 18th now has a free left turn to southbound NW Hood St. A stop sign has been installed for southbound traffic on NW Hood St at NW 18th Ave.

This adjustment is designed to reflect how most drivers naturally navigate the space and was done – in part – to address previous complaints about hazards at this intersection. The new signage and striping is consistent with national standards, and additional signage will be installed soon to provide more clarity to drivers.

We appreciate the community’s attention to the updated signage and ask all travelers to proceed cautiously as drivers adjust to the new configuration. City staff will monitor the situation as drivers adjust to the new signage.

Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. The City Council has discussed fireworks many times, and recently decided to Ban Mortar Fireworks. However, a full ban has not been issued. Additionally, fireworks can be banned during the summer season due to weather factors, however, that decision is based on a specific weather criteria and is ultimately made by the Fire Chief, Fire Marshall and Mayor. It erodes the soil, it impacts the wildlife, rogue trails are created and I believe it socially impacts people, like myself, that enjoy walking those paths. on Facebook Share I would like to know if it’s allowed to alter the walking paths in the green spaces? Thank you for using Engage Camas and thank you for your question. Generally speaking, the City does not allow modification to trails or walking paths without working directly with the City to determine if it's needed, and how the work will be completed. The building of jumps and other obstacles is also not permitted without the consent/permission of the City. With that being said, Staff will inspect the area you have mentioned and will determine next steps following that inspection.
