Parks, Recreation & Open Space Comprehensive Plan

The Camas PROS Plan provides a decision-making framework to steward and build upon a park, trail and recreation system that serves and enhances our community’s health and quality of life – now and into the future. It guides planning, development and maintenance of park and recreation amenities and programs and is updated every six years but can influence decisions for the next 20 years.

The current update of the PROS Plan is expected to be complete in early 2022, allowing the City to compete in the next cycle of state grant funding. The update will build on previous plans and efforts and will include a financial analysis to evaluate revenue sources against needs and recommendations.

Last year, we gathered community and stakeholder feedback about the community's priorities, which helped shape the goals and priorities in the draft 2022 PROS Plan. Thank you to those that visited our online open house and provided comments by Friday, February 4th. While the comment section has closed, the open house information is still live for your review.

Updated Parks and Recreation vision and mission Statement and PROS Plan goals

In October, the Parks and Recreation Commission established an updated Parks and Recreation vision and mission statement, as well as the goals for the PROS Plan. Both were informed by community input.
