Mayor's Message to our Volunteers

First, thank you for being here. This is a commitment and it takes a lot of work to be a part of something like this. Please know the City can’t do this without you.

Second, public service is very rewarding. Are there challenges? Of course, and that’s why we’ve developed the Citizen Boards & Commissions Handbook to help you navigate the world of public service through being a boards and commissions volunteer. Our hope is that you’ll be encouraged by this handbook, as it guides you through the Washington State’s Open Public Meetings and Public Records laws. Also included are other pertinent information that I believe you’ll find helpful and informative for such a role as the one in which you’ve been chosen to serve.

As a City, and as a team, we will work and grow together in providing the best service we can to the residents of this community. Many have chosen Camas as their home because of its character, roots and forward thinking initiatives. With your help, we will keep it that way. Please review the City's handbook and know that staff, Council, and reach out to staff should you have any questions or concerns.

Application deadline is November 30, 2024 at 5 p.m.
All applications will be reviewed, and applicants will be notified of next steps in the process.
